The construction of a water plant for the Vushtrri region in Kosovo

For several years, the Slovenian Kolektor group and the German KSB group under the Bluefuture trademark have been successfully collaborating and complementing each other in the field of comprehensive solutions in municipal infrastructure and energy for the area of South-East Europe.

The construction of a water plant for the Vushtrri region in Kosovo

Within the framework Bluefuture partnership, the companies KSB črpalke in armature and Kolektor Sisteh have successfully executed the technological engineering for the project of the construction of the water plant for drinking water in Vushtrri in Kosovo. The Republic of Kosovo has been, in large part with international help in the form of donations, co-financing, crediting, etc., increasingly building and renovating its infrastructure, e.g. roads, railways, airports, and hospitals, as well as the municipal and water systems. For the mentioned project, which has been one of the largest investment projects in Kosovo in the field of water infrastructure in the past years, the partners have executed the design of the technological solution, the supply of hydromechanical and electrical equipment, and the start of the entire technological water preparation system with the capacity of 400 l/s.

From the Rezal lake, filled by the Ibar river, an open water canal of the same name runs towards Priština. Its main purpose is supplying water for irrigation of the agricultural land and cooling of the Obilić thermal power plant.  The water from the canal has been used as the source for the water plant, which through filtrations and chemical processing ensures the output of drinking water, which is transported to the local water system.

Within the project, Kolektor Sisteh undertook the design, supply, and start-up services for electrical works of the project, including the automation and control system. During the execution, a high quality switching and controlling equipment of the manufacturer Eaton was used, and the SCADA application was executed with the CitectSCADA pack.

The successful execution of the project represents an important piece in the mosaic of the Bluefuture partnership collaboration references and serves as a confirmation of the right selection of high quality equipment and our competence in the field of municipal infrastructure and energy.
